I had the privilege of attending an event this Saturday where I met some very interesting, creative and sharp young people. I was very impressed with a young man named Jonathan Clark COE & Founder of Unpluggedcny. The group's mission is to get people unplugged from their cell phones and to connect with each other by talking and networking. On his card is written- "Engage in the moment, be present and build a strong relationship with those around you, offline".
How refreshing is that? Unplugged CNY hosted an event to Benefit Contact Community Services help raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention. The entertainment was great and they offered a sampling of local brewers and local foods but more importantly, they offered great entertainment with an important message for young people about suicide.
All in all, I was just so impressed with these group of young professionals whose message is unplug the phone and connect with the person. I look forward to attending and possibly even doing another event with Unpluggedcny.
